What is Splashtop?
Splashtop is software for remotely connecting to other computers and/or laptops. We use it for accessing our work computers from home or away from the office.
Logging Into Splashtop
If you don't already have a login, IT can set up an account for you per manager request. You'll receive an email invite from Splashtop that will allow you to create a password for your Splashtop account. After doing this you will need to set up 2-factor authentication (click here for instructions). Once you've set up your account you'll want to open the Splashtop Business (purple icon) app on your laptop. If you don't have splashtop business on your laptop the download link is here. (download link) Your username will be your work email address and the password will be the password you just created for splashtop. It will then ask you for a 6 digit code from the app you just downloaded.
Connecting to your computer
Once you've logged in, you should see the computer that you will be remoting into on the main screen. Hover your mouse over the computer and click
You will be prompted for a username and password. You will use the same username and password you use to log into your computer or laptop (Example: username = jdoe). You can then check the "Save credentials" box to automatically connect in the future.
Navigating the remote screen
These icons will appear at the top of the remote screen once you connect to another computer:
The first button will disconnect you from the device you're remoting into.
The third button will switch between two or more monitors.
The fourth button will allow you to select a monitor individually,
The fifth button allows you to change the viewing size of the screen.
The sixth button will let you to change to full screen mode.
